MEDITATION - MINDFULNESS

I discovered yoga as a way to manage chronic back pain and over time, it has completely changed my life! In 2009, I enrolled in teacher training to learn more about the practice of yoga so that I could help to heal myself at home, without having to rely so much on other practitioners. Through that experience, I discovered a much deeper understanding of the healing power of yoga and my personal passion for teaching. My 200-hour training is through Kanyakumari Ayurveda & Yoga Wellness Center in Milwaukee. I am currently enrolled in the 300-hour advanced teacher training program at Soul of Yoga in Encinitas, CA, on the path to becoming a certified yoga therapist. My classes are rooted in the Hatha tradition, with an emphasis on alignment and a heart-centered, mindful view. My intention is to empower you to discover and nurture your own practice, wherever you are on your path. I look forward to practicing with you!
 
Mindfulness is a quality we already possess. It can also be cultivated through practice. Mindfulness is often described as the act of paying attention on purpose, deeply, and without judgment to whatever arises in the present moment. By doing so, we live more fully, rather than feeling stuck in "automatic pilot." Our Monday evening meditation class is designed to develop the skill of paying attention to our inner and outer experiences with acceptance, patience, and compassion. In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the volume of research surrounding mindfulness practice and how it helps us to live healthier, happier lives. Join us!
